We recently moved to the Malton area and have now made two visits to Omni and both occasions were wonderful experiences. The staff are very welcoming and attentive, good selection of drinks including some local real ales and the decor is modern with some traditional features, and relaxing. Now for the star of the show, the food! The menu is varied, and as advertised as ‘Yorkshire tapas’ it is small plates and sharing platters. The chef is a magician in my opinion, he very cleverly puts a spin on traditional Spanish and Asian dishes. The slow roast short rib croquetas are a real hit, but the subtle gherkin ketchup is the kind of twist I’m talking about in terms of thinking a bit differently, it just takes the food up a level from other places. The prawn toast is to die for, very nice variation on a take away classic.
If you’re in Malton and looking for an excellent lunch or evening meal, Omni is a good place to look.
